Development of the Consumer Price Index for South Papua Province December 2024

Abstract

In December 2024, year on year (y-on-y) inflation in South Papua Province will be 1.78 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 107.90.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 3.87 percent; clothing and footwear group at 0.08 percent; health group at 1.44 percent; transportation group by 0.75 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 3.87 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 3.86 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were: housing, water, electricity and household fuel groups by 0.23 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group at 1.08 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 0.69 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group was 2.01 percent and the education group was 2.36 percent.
The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate and year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate for South Papua Province in December 2024 are 1.24 percent and 1.78 percent respectively.
